SDASA Code of Conduct

Standards of conduct are part of the ASA National Code and South Dakota rules and regulations. Every ASA member shall respect these Standards. Any manager, coach, player, or other individual(s) affiliated with any ASA team shall not commit any of the following:

  1. Unsportsman like conduct or any derogatory action on or off the playing field.
  2. Coaches shall encourage the athlete to exhibit sportsmanship at all times.
  3. Coaches shall follow ASA rules.
  4. Coaches will treat players with dignity and respect at all times.
  5. Coaches need to understand that they are role models for their young players. They must
    project a proper role model image.
  6. Coach s commitment to the player and the player s commitment to the coach is an equal
    partnership.
  7. Commission of larceny or fraud perpetrated against an ASA official, team or individual.
  8. Commission of any acts that are contrary to the objectives and purposes of ASA, of the
    league in which you are associated.
  9. Competing with or against individuals or teams who are disqualified or not associated with
    the ASA.
  10. Coaches shall become familiar with the objectives of the youth sport program with witch
    you are affiliated.
  11. Conduct all practices and games so that all athletes have an opportunity to improve their
    skill level through active participation.
  12. Cooperate with the administration of the organization in the enforcement of rules and regulations, and report any irregularities that violate sound competitive practices.

PENALTIES: Immediate ejection and removal from the premises. The SEFSA Board of Directors will take subsequent action (ie. Game suspensions for coaches, parents, fans and/or teams).
